Day 1
Arrive Kilimanjaro International Airport.
After immigration, retrieving your bags, and clearing customs, our representative, identifiable by a Jason Black Mountaineering sign, will transport you to our hotel in Karatu.

Day 2
Karatu – Lake Eyasi
After breakfast in the hotel you will depart for Lake Eyasi safari. A visit to the Hadzabe lands offers a unique and unforgettable glimpse into ancient culture. Lake Eyasi is situated at the southern western end of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area between Great Rift valley Eyasi escarpment and Kidero mountains, just 133km west of Lake Manyara. Around afternoon you will rich Mto wa mbu where you will have picnic lunch then the trip continue. Enjoy the Hadzabe tour walking in the bush with the only hunter gatherers remaining in the East African Region.

Discover plant species used by Hadzabe for making poison arrows.
Identify indigenous roots, tubers, fruits, and herbs.
Participate in hunting, collecting fruits and wild honey gathering.
Practice the local skills of using a bow and arrow during hunting activities.
Experience a bushman trekking adventure and visit bushman cave paintings
Day 3
Lake Eyasi – Maasai Village
After delicious breakfast at our camp, it will mark the begging of cultural trip to interact with the Maasai and learn about their culture. You will get to learn about their daily activities, customs and traditions, gender roles, traditional food and ceremonies. This is the opportunity to let the anthropologist in you out and learn about completely foreign way of life. After the trip you will be brought back to your hotel in Moshi.

Day 4
Lushoto – Usambara
After breakfast at the hotel, you will drive to Lushoto to begin the Usambara trek. You will take a short break in the afternoon and eat lunch before continuing. Overnight dinner and breakfast at Lushoto Irente Farm.

Day 5
Lushoto – Mkuzi
A 12.3km journey through the majestic Magamba forest, reaching an elevation of 1400m.

Mkuzi – Lukozi
18Km trek through charming villages nestled amidst the Usambara Mountains.

Lukozi – Rangwi
an 11.7km trek reaching a peak over 2,100 meters, taking roughly 7 hours. This rewarding climb offers stunning views and the chance to give back by planting a tree.

Rangwi – Mambo Viewpoint
The grand finale, a 14.5km journey (roughly 4 hours) to Mambo Viewpoint. This scenic route boasts an elevation of 1910m and unforgettable panoramas of Tanzania’s sprawling plains. Keep your eyes peeled for the majestic Kilimanjaro and rare Taita Falcons soaring through the skies.

Day 9
Mambo – Sunga Village
Wind down with a leisurely 5.3km stroll to Sunga Village. Here, immerse yourself in the artistic heritage of the region by learning the age-old craft of pottery making from local artisans.

After a hearty breakfast, enjoy a comfortable transfer back to Kilimanjaro airport, where your expedition concludes.

What accommodation is included?
All accommodation is included.
Will the expedition cost include travel?
We will cover all transport costs detailed within an expedition programme. This will exclude international flights to and from the destination countries. It is your responsibility to ensure these align with the start and finish of the expedition.
No experience required, but good fitness is a bonus.
This adventure requires no purchase of specialist equipment, and involved using standard trekking clothing. We will provide a full kit list for this trip during booking.
You may pay your deposit and balance using any lawful means. If sending money by electronic bank transfer then you will be responsible for covering the cost of the fees associated with the transfer, so that the company receives the full amount shown on your invoice, in the denomination shown on your invoice.
